Insulin resistance in the brain and peripheral nerves is believed to play a pivotal role in the development of cognitive dysfunction and damages to the nervous system in individuals with diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, and other chronic conditions. These complications significantly impact both the quality and longevity of life. Understanding the mechanisms underlying insulin resistance in the brain and peripheral nervous system in addition to systemic resistance may unveil new treatment options for neurodegenerative diseases in diabetes and a range of other conditions.

The symposium will focus on this emerging area of research of understanding nervous system disease, nerve and brain insulin resistance.  The program will feature five sessions, a poster exhibition, and a speed dating session designed to engage young researchers and foster meaningful interactions. This meeting will allow time for debate, encouraging active participation and discussion from attendees.
