The 2013 Jacobaeus prize lecture will be given by Lew Cantley, Weill Cornell, for his pioneering work on cell signaling by phosphoinositide 3-kinase in diabetes and other diseases. Eight other renowned researchers will also share their latest findings in the field of diabetes and metabolism including topics on nutrients and ageing, lipid metabolism, nonexercise activity through thermogenesis and differentiation of beta cells and adipocytes.
